Ioannis Alexopoulos

Managing Director

Mr. Alexopoulos is an exceptional leader and manager with a proven track record in the marina industry and a deep passion for yachting. He currently serves as the Managing Director of the Optimum Value Management Company (OVAL Mgmt) and Head of OVAL Mgmt. Yachts, in Greece.

Mr. Alexopoulos holds a Degree in Physics from the UoC, a master’s in science (MSc) in Risk Management from London City University CASS Business School, a Certificate in Finance, a Certificate in Shipping Business from Lloyd’s Maritime Academy and he is a Certified Marina Manager (CMM402) from the British Marine.

Mr. Alexopoulos has also been an elected member of the Board of the Greek Marinas Association (GMA) and has served GMA as a member of the board for 2 years, as the General Secretary for 4 years and as the Vice-President for another 4 years.

Starting his carrier as an internal auditor, Mr. Alexopoulos served as the Head Internal Auditor of ETAD for 4 years, as the Manager of Alimos Marina (the biggest Marina in Greece) for 1 year in 2009-2010 and as the Manager of Astir Marina in Vouliagmeni (the most prestigious marina in Greece) for 15 years, from September 2010 to September 2025.

He had a leading role in the reconstruction of Astir Marina, its repositioning in the market, its Grand Opening in 2024, as well as its establishment as one of the most luxurious home ports in Europe in 2024. Throughout these 15 years, under his management, Astir Marina was one of the safest and most customer-friendly marinas in Europe, with an almost unmatchable track record of zero nautical accidents, zero yacht fires, zero yacht theft incidents, zero conflicts, zero lawsuits and even zero extrajudicial notes.

With his ethos, professionalism and friendly character Mr. Alexopoulos managed to build strong relations with yachters from Greece and from all over the world, whom he now serves via the OVAL Mgmt. Co.


Capt. John Skandalis

Operations Director

Capt. John Skandalis is a highly accomplished maritime professional with a distinguished career spanning super and mega yachts, earning him a reputation for excellence, integrity, and unwavering commitment to the highest operational standards.

A Captain/Master A’ Mariner of the Merchant Navy with full STCW certifications, Capt. Skandalis began his career on Hellenic Lines and Prodromos Lines, General Cargo Liners, as a Second Officer and was promoted to Chief Officer and served in two tramp vessels as a Chief Officer. He then served as Captain/Master A’ on professional and private yachts for 17 years and later expanded his expertise as Captain, Operations Manager, and Yacht Agent in a Greek company’s offices for 12 years. He is extensively experienced in yacht refits and new builds, from small yachts to super yachts exceeding 50 meters.

Throughout his career, he has successfully managed complex operational environments for prestigious families in Greece and internationally, combining calm authority, sound judgment, and exceptional discretion. His deep knowledge of yacht management, safety, and regulatory compliance allows him to lead fleet operations with confidence and precision.

Capt. Skandalis is recognized for his strong work ethic, collaborative leadership, and the lasting relationships he builds across the yachting industry—relationships grounded in respect, professionalism, and consistent excellence. His market insight and operational expertise make him an invaluable asset to our company.


Mr. Serafeim (Makis) Antoniou

Technical Director

Mr. Serafeim (Makis) Antoniou is a graduate of the Merchant Maritime Academy and holds a Certificate of Engineer Class A’. He has worked as a 3rd, 2nd and Chief Engineer in Bulk Carrier Ships, and has also served in Korea as Machinery Inspector (MI) in four new building bulk carrier ships projects, at STX Shipyard.

For the following 22 years of his career, Mr. Antoniou managed to implement his engineering expertise in the Yachting sector, as the Chief Engineer in both the 80 meters Mega Yacht TUEG and the 140 meters Mega Yacht SALAMAH. Throughout those years, Mr. Antoniou coordinated crucial aspects of maintenance, dry docking, troubleshooting and classification requirements, and he made sure the two Mega Yachts are maintained and kept to the highest industry standards.

Serafeim (Makis) Antoniou is a highly experienced engineer, whose skills, ethos, integrity and trustworthiness are well known in the market. He has handled some of the most demanding maintenance and refit projects in Greece, with professionalism and commitment to details.
